Introducing the T54SL, Treiber’s latest timepiece inspired by the legendary 1954-1963 300SL, famously known as "The Gullwing." FINE ADJUSTMENT CLASP

We’ve developed a new fine-adjustable butterfly clasp, allowing for tool-less fine adjustment in two 2.5 mm increments, providing up to 5 mm of total adjustment without needing to remove any links.

FINAL DESIGN CHANGES

Over the past few months, we’ve gathered feedback on the initial prototypes and made a few small adjustments to enhance both design and functionality. Please note that the photos in this listing reflect the initial prototypes, so the changes outlined below are not yet shown. Here’s a summary of the improvements, including some renderings:

DATE WHEELS

To enhance dial design, we’ve developed new date wheels. The Asphalt Black dial will feature a black date wheel with cream numerals, matching the dial. The Strawberry Red and Blue-Grey dials will have cream backgrounds with black numerals for improved readability. For the Alpine White dial, we will use a white date wheel with black numerals, matching the dial.

The T54SL is thoughtfully crafted with precision and care in the heart of California, U.S.A. Inspired by the legendary 300SL, each element of the T54SL (aside from the movement) is custom-designed exclusively for this timepiece, ensuring a look and feel that set it apart. At Treiber™, we believe in more than just design; we pride ourselves on exceptional craftsmanship. Hermann Kugeler personally oversees the hand-finishing, assembly, and regulation in San Francisco, California.

How to Operate

SETTING THE DATE & TIME

Step 1: Unscrew crown counter-clockwise, until it pops out.

Step 2: Turn the crown counter-clockwise in position 3 to set time. The second hand stops, allowing precise adjustment.

Step 3: In position 2, turn the crown clockwise to set the date. (Avoid adjusting between 10pm and 2am.)

Step 4: Screw the crown back into the case by gently pushing the crown towards the case and turning clockwise.

MANUAL WINDING

With the crown unscrewed in position 1, turn clockwise.

LIMITED PRODUCTION

At Treiber™, we take immense pride in our commitment to crafting exceptional timepieces. With unwavering dedication to quality, each watch is meticulously handcrafted to ensure the highest level of precision and attention to detail. To maintain this standard, we currently produce fewer than 50 watches per year, with each one assigned a unique serial number.

The Strawberry Red dial is limited to a lifetime production of just 25 units, while the Blue-Grey dial is capped at 100 units. Once we reach these limits, no more of these specific dials will be produced!

Design & Inspiration

Dial

The dial and handset of the T54SL are inspired by the gauges that once indicated fastest speed in the world for a production car of its time. The 300SL took the world by storm when it was unleashed in 1954 redefining speed and style. The dial colors also match some of the paint colors available on the 300SL.

Lugs

The unique and asymmetric lugs of the T54SL mimic the gentle curves of the ‘eyebrow’ wheel arches that once ruled the roads. The design serves both form and function. Much like the ‘eyebrows’ beautifully hug the 300SL’s wheels, improving aerodynamics, our watch lugs elegantly embrace your wrist.

Crown

The crown of the T54SL is inspired by the radio knobs on the 300SL. Like the radio knob, our crown has 12 facets providing the perfect mix of form and function. The crown also features Treiber’s wing logo etched into it.
